A large SUV unveiled in 2008 that sells only in dribs and drabs, the Toyota Sequoia is not a model you would predict to top a list like this. But, lo and behold, here it is.
Why? Well, like other Toyota products, the Sequoia is well-built, reliable and even comfortable. Its very rarity may also partially explain why it's so valuable, especially when you look at the two finalists it outranked; the Chevrolet Tahoe and the GMC Yukon are two vehicles that sell very well in North America.

Minivan: Toyota Sienna
Finalists: Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona
The increasingly narrow minivan niche sees the Sienna rank best for retained value in 2020. The Canadian Black Book cites the optional all-wheel drive system and the reasonable fuel economy of its V6 engine.
That's all very true, but will the situation be the same next year when the Chrysler Pacifica (introduced in 2017, remember) will be among the choices? It's a question worth asking.
Still, the Toyota Sienna is an excellent choice for the value it offers. A glance at used-vehicle listings confirms it.
