yet they all share one thing in common - their engine. Given HPA's experience with the narrow-angle 3.2-litre V(R)6, the same powerplant as used in the original Golf R32 as well as numerous other VW, Audi and Porsche products, VW and HPA have chosen to used heavily tuned versions of this engine to power the three different R GT cars. The 3.2-litre engine is an advanced, lightweight design, known for its eagerness to rev and smooth operation, featuring such technology as a variable intake manifold, and continuous variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust valves. It produces between 220- and 250-horsepower in stock form.

three R GT cars have power outputs in excess of 500-horsepower. Yes, that's right, 500-horsepower, more than double of what is produced in stock form. HPA made such exorbitant output gains possible through a series of serious modifications that would garner nothing but the utmost respect amongst fellow tuners. Each 3.2-litre V6 engine has been upgraded with two turbochargers, two intercoolers and the associated turbo mods, such as high-flow injectors, an upgraded exhaust system and a massaged computer management program. But make no mistake, while the components used are similar, each vehicle is very different, designed with unique characteristics for a specified audience.
