Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) wins Rally GB, last round of the World Rally Championship. Sébastien Loeb (Citroen), clinched the title although he retired in a road section in the last day.

Latvala, who took the lead on Saturday, pulled away in front on Sunday morning. Loeb (Citroën), who was standing in second position, was forced to retire after an accident in a road section between stage 17 and 18.

Loeb’s Citroen DS3 WRC was hit by a car that ended up on the wrong side of the road. On Saturday, the Frenchman already secured his 8th title in a row after Mikko Hirvonen’s retirement.

The incident put Mads Ostberg (Ford Fiesta Stobart) up to second place. That’s the best result for the young Norwegian driver since he took second position in the opening round in Sweden. His team-mate and fellow countryman Henning Solberg takes his first podium finish in two years. Kris Meeke (Mini Cooper) missed the podium by only seven seconds.
