Some of the top teams of the World Superbike championship will be present this Wednesday and Thursday at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, for some early testing of new bikes and riders.

Aprilia will attend with team leader Max Biaggi and British Superbike Champion for 2009 and new signee Leon Camier, plus development rider Alex Hofmann.

Ten Kate Honda will be in attendance, with Superbike riders Jonathan Rea and team newcomer Max Neukirchner, while Supersport riders Kenan Sofuoglu and newcomer Michele Pirro will also take to the track.

Suzuki Alstare will field both their new signings for 2010, Leon Haslam and Sylvain Guintoli, who both rode in a recent test session in Australia.

2009 Champions Sterilgarda Yamaha will also be at Valencia, running James Toseland (Replacing Ben Spies) and Cal Crutchlow.

No news from key absentees, such as BMW, who are looking to step up to the lead pack in 2010, nor from Ducati, who just missed giving Noriyuke Haga his first World Superbike Championship, reputedly because of decisions taken by the now-fired team manager, Davide Tardozzi.

More official test sessions will take place before the first 2010 round, scheduled for Phillip Island (Australia) on February 28 – Not a lot of time to get your new rider comfortable with the team and the bikes, and get on the pace!
