The promoter of the World Touring Car Championship, Marcello Lotti, has met with the director of the US Touring Car Championship, Ali Arsham, to discuss the possibility of a common race in America, in 2012.

“The American market is a very important one for the cars industry. This is why we seriously consider going to America at least once every year,” said Lotti.

“Our priority is to establish friendly relationships with world wide touring championships and it was only logical to meet Ali Arsham, whose championship welcome, amoungst others, the Super 2000 cars.

“The objective is to be ready to race next year,” he added.

“The next step, said Arsham, is to set a date and place that would fit both the USTCC and the WTCC schedules.”
