With six races to go in the 2011 World Touring Car Championship, Chevrolet already secures the constructors’ title, while Yvan Muller takes championship lead.

Chevrolet, the only official entry in this year’s WTCC championship, has no rival this season, clearly ahead of BMW and Seat private cars. The American brand secured constructors title after both rounds presented this week-end in Valencia, while Yvan Muller moves up to first position in provisional championship classification after the Frenchman took victory in both races in Spain.

Obviously, the Chevrolet drivers are far ahead in drivers’ championship, and will now fight for the title in an internal battle in the team. After Rob Huff dominated the first part of the season, Yvan Muller was able to close on to his team mate, and eventually take the lead in Spain.

There are six rounds remaining in Suzuka, Zhaoqing (China) and Macau. Last year, Yvan Muller clinched his second title, which was his first with Chevrolet (he was crowned with Seat in 2008).
