Seat drivers Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini crashed heavily during the WTCC qualifying session in Macau. However, both drivers should be able to take the start of the races on Sunday.

Muller lost the control of his car on cement dust at around 200 km/h, and Tarquini, who was following Muller closely, could not avoid hitting his teammate’s car, and was himself hit by Alain Menu’s Chevrolet Cruze.

Muller and Tarquini were shocked but fortunately unhurt. They were taken to Macau hospital for medical checkups. Both should be at the start of the races on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Rob Huff (Chevrolet) clinched pole position. Tarquini and Muller would start from position 7th and 8th on the starting grid. Augusto Farfus’ BMW, also involved in championship battle, will start from 3rd position.
