Yvan Muller (Chevrolet Cruze) moved on from his Saturday pole position by taking race 1 victory, during round 2 of the World Touring Car Championship, held at Valencia, Spain – making it an unprecedented hat-trick of three victories in three races so far this season.
Gabriele Tarquini (Seat Leon) and Tom Coronel (BMW 320) also respected the qualifying hierarchy by completing the race in the same order the started it.
Muller’s teammates, Rob Huff and Alain Menu, therefore had to settle for fourth and fifth respectively.
Ex-F1 driver Tiago Monteiro managed to score some points, down in ninth place.
