Most college graduates dream of finishing their courses and landing a fantastic first job- but recent graduates Min Young Kang, Robert Jablonski and David Rojas have been given the chance of a lifetime. Having just concluded studies at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, the young team's first task was to give visual life to an interesting new HUMMER concept called the HX.

It's a nimble and fresh concept intended to provide a vision of the future direction of the brand. The flex-fuel compatible model boasts efficiency and capability, while delivering an open-air and fully customizable driving experience.

"HUMMER appeals to young people globally and served as a perfect first assignment for our newest talent," said Ed Welburn, vice president of global design and product planning. "Today's graduates from top design schools are ready to hit the ground running. The HUMMER design challenge gave our newest designers an opportunity to sprint."

Young Kang, Jablonski and Rojas faced many challenges associated with the design of a vehicle within a popular global brand. The new HX would have to live up to market expectations while being visually relevant across borders of culture and gender.

Helping to ensure the HX will fit with the brands lineup, Team HX received guidance from Carl Zipfel- a former professional motocross racer and director of the HUMMER design studio.

After three months of sketching and sculpting, three scaled-down clay models emerged to be presented to GM executives for a final decision on the concept's look.

The HUMMER HX will be introduced at the 2008 North American International Auto Show.
