The design especially works due to what might be the world's tiniest door handles, almost invisible from the previously mentioned angle. The rear side window disappears into a steeply raked C-pillar that, once viewed from the rear quarter joins up with a tall, abbreviated decklid. The taillights bring to mind the current Oldsmobile Aurora, but only in their clean, understated complimentary addition to the G6's overall appearance. Four exhaust ports peak out of the lower rear fascia hinting at the concept's performance capabilities.

Nothing less than a 285-hp 3.5-L supercharged V6 lay under the hood, with 272 lb-ft of torque. Its horsepower and torque ratings, engine displacement and curb weight almost mirror the much revered Infiniti G35 Coupe, which should make for spirited performance. That said the Japanese car doesn't use a blower to manage only 5 ponies less power, leading me to believe that a less sophisticated overhead valve engine is still being deployed in this prototype. Of course OHV technology is much cheaper than DOHC, a point that reminds us that the G6, if built, will no doubt be priced tens of thousands less than the premium Infiniti coupe. Still all my ramblings could be hogwash as GM teases us with the premise that "it could be built with the fuel-saving Displacement on Demand technology," a state-of-the-art powerplant.
