The A7 Sportback also gets its share of safety features, including an advanced navigation system that sends data to the adaptive cruise control and the automatic transmission, which work together with the pre-sense safety system to help reduce the severity of a potential accident. Night vision assist, lane-departure warning and park assist systems are also shoo-ins.

Four engines will equip the A7 in various markets, although North American versions might only get one of them. Two turbodiesel engines and a 2.8-litre V6 will be offered across the pond, while we’ll benefit from the A6’s supercharged, 3.0-litre V6 that develops 300 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque.
Front-wheel drive versions of the A7 will be equipped with a continuously variable transmission dubbed multitronic, while quattro all-wheel drive versions get the S tronic, double-clutch, 7-speed automated gearbox. Expect only the latter in North America.
The Audi A7 Sportback should arrive in Canada this fall with a base price of about $75,000 (our wild guess). That might sound expensive, but don’t forget: you get three cars for the price of one, all in one.
