This truck is a card-carrying member of an endangered species; fans are also clamouring for it

# 9 Lower towing capacity

The TRX's towing capacity is 8,100 lb (or 3,674 kg), which is significantly less than the Ram 1500 equipped with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine or even the V6 EcoDiesel-equipped variant. In the case of those two models, much better suited to pulling really big things, we're talking about 12,750 lb (or 5,783 kg) with the V8 equipped with the eTorque system or 12,560 lb (or 5,697 kg) with the EcoDiesel V6.

But then, pulling heavy loads is not the primary mission of the TRX, is it.

# 10 The price!

Unsurprisingly, the craziest Ram 1500 is also the most expensive! Are you ready? Its starting price is $94,395. And ‘starting’ of course means that it gets worse. The truck that ram gave me to play with (safely) carried a sticker price of $116,540, before preparation fees. Understand that as befits its place in a particular niche of the full-size pickup market, there are tons of options available, and they’ll drive up the price faster than you can climb a hill in the TRX.

While Ford has yet to release pricing for its new 2021 Raptor, it's a good bet that the TRX's direct competitor will capitalize on the fact the TRX comes with just the one monstrous engine, and offer a "base" Raptor at a lower price and a Raptor R at around $100,000 CDN. We'll see when the details are official.
