While it sounds like the ultimate sports coupe all wasn't perfect. The Talon TSi suffered from dreaded turbo lag, not all that common in today's turbocharged cars. The turbo can be a bit disconcerting when kicking in, but at least due to AWD the rack-and-pinion steering system doesn't torque one way or the other, the bane of many powerful front-drivers, pulling the car off line if when on full throttle.

Rather the Talon handles well, in either base or TSi trim. Its fully independent double wishbone suspension setup was complimented by an extremely rigid body, making for an agility that was uncommon in 1995. So good was it, that even today the Talon TSi is a regular podium winner in amateur and professional autocross and rally events.

A great deal of thanks to this is owed to the Talon TSi's all-wheel drive system. It includes a center differential and viscous coupling, resulting in superb grip no matter what road conditions are like.

Once again, depending on your priorities, you'll either love the rigid ride quality, not to mention the raucous racket coming from ahead of the firewall, or alternatively, hate it. Of course, if you truly are seeking out a Talon TSi and are willing to pay dearly for the privilege of owning one, you'll be one of the former auto enthusiasts who crave the sound of engine revs as much as the smell of burnt rubber.
