Part of that value theme meant that good fuel economy needed to be paramount, and the Breeze did very well in that department. The

Breeze, in base 5-speed manual trim, delivered 9.3 L/100 km (25 mpg) in the city and 6.9 L/100 km (34 mpg) on the highway when new. The automatic-equipped 2.4-L engine achieved 11.2 L/100 km (21 mpg) in the city and 8.1 (29) on the highway, also quite good considering the additional power. As optional equipment a 4-speed automatic could be ordered, but not with Chrysler's AutoStick manual-mode as it was available in V6-powered JA cars. The Breeze did offer antilock brakes throughout its tenure, mind you, complimented by four-wheel discs for great performance.

Safety in mind, all Breezes include dual front airbags as standard equipment, plus 1997 crash impact standard side-guard beams integrated into the all four doors. Height adjustable front seat shoulder belts make sure the straps can be set for optimal comfort, while childproof rear door locks are imperative for families with small children. Plymouth also offered an integrated rear child seat as optional equipment, a really handy feature that sets JA cars apart from their imported rivals.
