A Firm And Rigorous Handling
The 3.2 CL coupes are built over a four-wheel independent suspension with its design being derived from competition.

The Type S boasts of a quite rigorous handling thanks to stiffer springs and dampers plus a set of performance rated 215/50R17 tires.

As with German cars, the Type S suspension is stiffer than the regular model, but that firmness is not unpleasant unless you ride on bumpy roads.

The Type S Acura CL is quite an achievement on the handling side. Around fast and tight turns, the car rigorously sticks to its course as if it were on rails. Predictable, it handles with ease and safety.

The car is surprisingly neutral and is not affected by any challenging driver move around a turn. As an example, if you lift off the gas in mid corner, you do not risk losing control of the car after an unexpected understeer.

I thought that the 260 horse power would cause torque steer, none of that. The engineers did their jobs so well that the steering does not transmit any harsh reactions, even when taking off with the wheels turned in. Besides, the CL benefits from a crisp, accurate and linear steering system which is, as mentioned earlier, finely weighted.

Despite being larger than its predecessor, the 3.2 CL stands as a luxury sport coupe providing a lot of driving enjoyment as well as a firm and predictable handling.
