A TRUE SPORTY TWO SEATER INTERIOR
Slipping behind the wheel of the Z8, you feel like you are in a sporty two seater of the 50's. After a close look you realize that it is a well designed modern automobile. The adjustable bucket seats are comfortable and provide a fair body support. The driving position is impeccable and there is an instant at home feeling inside that one of kinder.

The instruments, oddly placed off to the right above the centre stack, are easy to read after a while. Located under the rearview mirror, the cluster includes the fuel gauge, speedometer, tach (with clock) and temperature gauges.

Below the instruments, are two vents and the controls for HVAC. A little off to the left of those controls is the large button that starts the engine as found in those racers from yesteryear. The radio, in my opinion, is housed a bit too low behind a retractable cover. It includes, among other things, a GPS navigation unit, a hands-free cellular telephone and the usual audio functions. Despite its complicated operation, the audio system produces a great sound with its well placed 10 speakers.

Even if there is no options in the brochure, I would suggest that such a vehicle nearing 200 000 $. Befitted with memory buckets and mirrors as well as an adjustable steering wheel although it is already telescopic.

Dropping the top is an easy job, just press a button. The tonneau cover is also easy to install. On quibble, the rear window is made of plastic while the much less expensive Mazda Miata features glass. The trunk capacity is somewhat limited (203 litters) and can, according to the BMW folks, hold two set of golf clubs...
