The Magnum SRT-8 makes a bold statement of raw, unadulturated power. Fitting considering its supercharged HEMI V8.

Of course, in the Magnum SRT-8 concept Dodge engineers added a little more grunt. The 5.7-L mill has been supercharged for an estimated 430-hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, adding a little Whipple whine to the V8's dual exhaust rumble.

"In terms of performance, design and function, the Dodge Magnum SRT-8 concept will leave its mark as one of the coolest vehicles on the road," said Zetsche. "It is aimed squarely at the next wave of automotive enthusiasts looking for passionate performance, an all-new proportion and a vehicle you can use for just about anything."

This 5-speed sequentially shifting automatic transmission comes via Mercedes-Benz' substantial parts bin. Chrysler Group's new line of vehicles will all benefit from the German company's many years of technology leadership.

It's mated to a new Mercedes-Benz supplied electronically-controlled 5-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick sequentially actuated shifting mode, upping the sporting experience. Incidentally, the Magnum will also derive its steering and front suspension system, seat structures and electronic architecture from its Mercedes partner.

"From a synergy standpoint, Dodge Magnum SRT-8 is significant for our company in that it represents the first high-volume vehicle to incorporate select Mercedes technology," said Richard Schaum, Executive Vice President, Product Development, DaimlerChrysler. "The Dodge Magnum SRT-8 combines stunning American design with proven German technology."
