The Magnum SRT-8 offers 765 L (27 cu ft) of cargo volume with the rear seatbacks upright and even more if folded flat - spacious for a sports car.

While the Magnum displays radical styling and over-the-top sporting pretensions its functionality will no doubt win over fans as well. Its interior is incredibly spacious, accessible via four large doors or what Dodge calls its "extreme access" liftgate. The unusually large cargo opening has been created by hinging the top of the rear liftgate midway between the C and D-pillars. With the 60/40 split rear seatback in its upright position, 765 L (27 cu ft) of cargo volume is available with even more on call if folded flat. Under the cargo floor a storage module keeps valuables safely out of anyone's line of sight.

The new machine's bold crosshair grille could easily intimidate a Hummer driver while the bulging hood doesn't hint, but shouts its message of ultimate power lying beneath. It's long and looks it, especially enhanced by its low roofline and narrow side windows.

Speaking of safety, the Magnum features 4-wheel ABS equipped disc brakes with twin piston aluminum calipers and 345 mm vented front rotors. It also gets traction control and electronic stability control to keep it firmly planted on the roadway, also supplied by Mercedes-Benz.

What's more, rather than just another great concept, the new Magnum SRT-8 crossover concept is destined to become reality, showing up in a dealer showroom near you in 2004! So if you happened to have fallen in love with it during the last few words and photos it won't be for naught, you'll be able to fulfill your desire in a year or so.
