Despite the well equipped vehicle in question, I believe it's imperative to "tame the wild beast" before taking it out into unfamiliar territory. I strongly recommend new 4x4 buyers, particularly those interested in off-roading vehicles like the Rubicon, should take a lesson from a specialized school like the "Off Road Academy" to learn the limitations of your vehicle, not to mention yourself. I thought I was invincible in the Jeep's special equipment TJ. I thought that it was all up to the equipment at hand, that I could go anywhere and get myself out of even the stickiest situation. But after getting stuck in the mud, yes the mud, my mortality was brought to light. Even with the Rubicon, respected as one of the best 4x4s on the planet, a simple mud puddle left me stranded. Despite my sticky situation I don't know of a factory direct vehicle on the affordable side of a Hummer, as competent in the wilderness as the Rubicon.

Aside from my off-roading experience, I bet you are all dying to know how this ruthless Rubicon performs on the streets. Well what can I say, it got me from point A to B in style, but the gas bill put a dent in the bank account. I'm a student, so that means any spending will leave its mark!

With that last thought in mind I initially thought the rough and ready suspension would leave its mark on my backside, but while I could feel most rocks and bumps on the road its standard khaki-coloured high-back cloth bucket seats kept me in place and comfortable. Its firm ride is a small price to pay for the thrills this truck offers.

Even on the congested streets of downtown I found parking hardly a problem, the power assisted steering easy to negotiate at low speeds while comfortable to grip due to its standard leather wrapped steering wheel.
