Speed sensitive, power assisted rack and pinion steering is also standard. With a very tight turning diameter of only 5.18 m (17 feet), the Epica should prove easy to maneuver around the multitude of big SUV's and minivans congesting many a parking lot these days.

Of course what starts must also stop. Epica utilizes four-wheel disc brakes on both the LS and LT models, however a four-channel/four-sensor ABS system is optional on the LS model and standard on the LT. In my view it was a mistake to not make ABS standard on the LS model as well. When it comes to brakes and safety features, family purchasers (at least the ones I know), would rather pay the few extra bucks it would cost to fully equip whichever model they chose with the latest safety technology.

Fortunately, the engineers saw fit to incorporate the latest airbag technology into all Epica's. Standard is dual-stage driver and front-passenger airbags that adjust the inflation pressure according to the severity of the impact. This technology reduces "friendly-fire" injuries associated with singular inflation rate airbags.
Apart from anti-lock brakes not being standard on the LS model, Chevy has adopted the give-em-all-you-can approach with the Epica. In doing so, the domestic brand is working extremely hard at winning the pricing game in the highly competitive midsize class. This is an excellent strategy for ensuring Epica sales targets are met. In today's highly sophisticated car market, it mostly comes down to dollars and sense. More than ever, new car purchasers are researching what they can get for a buck. The Internet has enabled this explosion of buyer savvy. Comparing value car to car can be done from the comfort of home, without the plaid suits stalking you through the dealer's lot.
