So will the retro-theme Nomad come to market? Well, I think there's a very good chance that we will see a modern-day Nomad wandering the roadways of North America in the near future. GM's new Kappa architecture is nicely lending itself to several small-sized projects, one of which - the Solstice - is definitely slated for production as a 2006 model.

GM believes the time is right for a Nomad-sized entry. "The idea for a compact vehicle like this is more relevant now than ever," said Jose Gonzalez, lead interior designer. The timing couldn't have been better, with a customized original Nomad just making news for a record breaking USD$140,400 auction price at Barrett-Jackson in January. Obviously there's a passion out there for the car.
Relevant or not, the Nomad sits atop my list of cool concepts. I would definitely give the seasonal wanderer home in my garage.
