This moderate ride height should make getting in and out of its three rows of seats and loading cargo into its power liftgate accessible cargo area all the easier. The third row is split 50/50 to increase loading capability if a full load of tagalongs isn't on board. If more space is needed for longer items both 2nd and 3rd rows fold flat. Numerous storage nooks and crannies can be found throughout the interior as well, with a handy covered bin for storing valuables under the cargo area floor.

The lower center of gravity will improve handling too, assisted further by a fully-independent suspension to smooth out bumps and enhance driving dynamics. The optional rear load leveling suspension will aid in front, aft balancing, improving both side to side control for quick and safe lane changes as well as panic braking when fully loaded.

But hauling folks and stuff around only scrapes the surface of the Pacifica's personality. Like the Town & Country the new crossover will appeal to those whose versatile lifestyles are augmented by a refined automotive palate. Leather seating will be standard, with heated surfaces on the first two rows. Second row passengers can also adjust the rear temperature via controls on the sliding and removable rear console. The driver should find a comfortable position from the ten-way power seat while the front passenger will have to make due with only four power adjustments. Both can equally enjoy the dual zone climate control with odor/particulate filtration, power glass sunroof and AM/FM/CD/DVD Infinity Intermezzo theater-style surround-sound audio system incorporating a 6-disc dash-mounted CD/DVD player. Sirius Satellite Radio will be available as well.

In an unusual move Chrysler will include a hands-free navigation and communication system as standard equipment. Its large color display is conveniently located within the instrument cluster just below the speedometer. While this puts it well within range of the driver's sight line, optimal when following route directions, it makes it impossible for the front passenger to set. This will be great news for drivers easily irritated by side-seat button hogs and lousy for those who can't manage to simultaneously walk and chew gum. Hey, you can't please everyone.
