Also to the right of the wheel is the video-type screen first seen in the current Prius. Here power sources are shown, plus fuel economy and radio presets. The graphics are easy to see and interesting to watch, although a bit of a distracting after a while. There is also an option to have an onboard navigation system integrated into the display.

Most new cars offer fairly decent storage options for sunglasses and water bottles (plus tapes and CDs) but thanks to freed up space by the dash mounted joystick the new Prius allows more, including a pull out drawer underneath the side console for other "necessities". The average person wouldn't even know this drawer existed, perhaps making it good for hiding that chocolate bar from preying eyes. This same console also has a pull down drink holder for back seat guests.

And for good measure, the Prius offers more cargo capacity with its new lift-back design. There is ample head clearance in the rear with adequate legroom even with the front seats pushed well back. But for someone over 6' 2, it might be a little uncomfortable for a lengthy trip - thanks to my tall friend for that observation. The stylized seats look great but don't appear at first glance ideal for long trips either, despite comfortably high positioning. But appearances aren't everything, and Toyota has a history of producing extremely comfortable front seats.
