"The Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage will enable us to appeal to a larger market. Aston Martin will never ever become a volume car manufacturer, but this model will allow just a few more people to enjoy the Aston Martin experience," said Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin. "The AMV8 Vantage is a really significant model for us as it will allow Aston Martin to become a true player in the global sports car market."

And just how low will the price go? That's yet to be determined. But with Aston's DB7, placed higher on the feeding chain than the new model at $206,500, it's safe to say the AMV8 Vantage will have to come in at least near $170,000 to reach that new target market. We'll have to wait and see.

Until then, we can gaze longingly at photos or even better, catch sight of one at a major auto show. Aston Martin has done a stellar job with the AMV8 Vantage, staying true to brand principles by mixing in adequate heritage in with ample modernity. It will do well in its market.
