The X-Runner will be just one trim level available to Toyota truck fans when it goes on sale later this fall, sidling up beside an entry-level four-cylinder, 2WD work trucks and 4x4 recreational Tacomas.

How much larger is it? Compared to the previous-generation Tacoma, the 2005 model will get a 127 mm (5.0 inch) wheelbase extension, while its track will be widened by 102 mm (4.0 inches). The increased length and width result in four-and-one-half additional inches of shoulder and hip room inside.
