The all-new Kia Optima (Magentis in Europe and Canada) first saw the light in Frankfurt earlier this year. Its completely restyled body will house a long list of standard safety features and equipment. The headlight design is reminiscent of Infiniti's Q45 flagship but overall, the car still conserves a very anonymous look. The interior is quite classy and the materials look good. It boasts more interior space than the present day Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.
Powering the Optima will be a 161 hp 2.4L I-4 or a 185 hp 2.7L V6. Although they share some engines, the platforms of the Sonata and the Optima are different. The Optima should be in showrooms as of April or May 2006.
