The RDX, Acura's new entry level SUV features Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) that we first saw on the RL sedan. It distributes torque between the front wheels as well as the rear wheels. This system combines superior handling and all-wheel-drive stability, and such security is welcome in a family-oriented vehicle.
Visually, the front end looks like a cross between the phased-out EL and the MDX, with creased sheet metal and Acura's trademark grille. The rear bears no resemblance to any other product and has a muscular stance with bulging rear fenders.
The engine, Honda's first of the sort, is a turbocharged 2.3L I-4 that puts out 240 hp and 260 lbs of torque. The transmission will be a 5-speed automatic with manual mode controlled by steering-wheel mounted paddles.
