Base price for a Fusion Hybrid is $31,999, and our test car also included the $2,100 navigation system. That’s more than a Camry Hybrid ($31,310) and a Prius with the Premium Package ($30,045), but less than an Altima Hybrid ($33,398).
However, one of the Fusion Hybrid’s rivals is the Fusion itself. The 4-cylinder S version with a 6-speed automatic consumes only 0.4 L/100 km more on the highway compared with the hybrid version, and costs almost $10K less.
If we stay in the realm of hybrids, though, the Fusion makes sense. A lot of sense, actually; it’s one of the most-efficient and the most driver-involving. Could it be the absolute best hybrid in the North American market? Quite possibly.
