Sometimes, little companies manage to play with the big boys, but such an accomplishment is rare. CODA Automotive brought their all-electric car to the 2010 Los Angeles Car Show and made a big splash. Will they be able to change the game and become a leader in the market for electric cars? Only time will tell, but this automobile has tons of potential!

With about the size of a Honda Civic, CODA's all-electric car looks really good, aside from the weirdly placed LED lights on the back bumper. This pretty little car is also equipped with appealing 17-inch alloy wheels.

The CODA comes with a lithium-iron phosphate capable of powering the electric motor that produces 134 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. A fully-charged CODA has a range of 144 to 193 kilometres. Two hours on the plug will give the car enough energy for a 64-kilometre drive, which is really impressive. Options with this car include ABS brakes, Electronic Stability Control, front seat-mounted side airbags and side-curtain airbags. It also comes with 24/7 roadside assistance, just in case a problem arises.

The all-electric car's transmission has four functions that can be used via a rotary knob: park, neutral, reverse and drive. Impossible to be simpler! The car comes with air conditioning and an infotainment system that mixes phone use, navigation and information feeds that show up on the screen giving you news, weather, etc. This system also houses Greenscreen, a touch-screen app that pretty much displays range and efficiency.

The CODA is sold in the United States for $37,500 after a $7,500 government rebate. It includes a 3-year/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty and an 8-year/100,000-mile limited battery warranty.
