2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon to arrive at Acura dealerships in late Fall
Honda unveiled the first-ever Acura wagon today at the New York International Auto Show. The TSX lineup indeed welcomes a new member, the 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon.

A variant of the Honda Accord Tourer, which hit the streets of Europe back in 2008, this five-door model shares the TSX sedan 2.4-litre, 4-cylindre engine, but not its 3.5-litre V6 .

The marketing gurus at Honda’s premium division hope that this new TSX will become an enticing alternative to SUVs, which continue to lose market shares in North America. The company insists that it offers "a new solution to modern utility needs with its balanced and efficient performance coupled with bold styling and versatile cargo capabilities."

Wait, are they talking about the TSX Sport Wagon or the Honda Accord Crosstour? One thing is for sure: the former boasts a more conservative design, notwithstanding the controversial grille up front.

Competition will come from the Volvo V50/V70, Cadillac CTS Wagon, Audi A4 Avant and BMW 3-Series Touring. Slightly longer than the Audi, the TSX Sport Wagon inexplicably offers less cargo room (1,187 litres vs. 1,430). And don’t even compare the Japanese with the CTS and V70!

The 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon will arrive in Canadian showrooms this fall. Pricing will be made official in the meantime.

New York -
The all-new 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon made its world debut at the New York International Auto Show. The TSX Sport Wagon is designed to offer a smart solution to modern utility needs with its balanced and efficient driving performance coupled with bold styling and versatile cargo capabilities.

"The TSX Sport Wagon represents a smart choice for Canadians seeking a vehicle with utility," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "It's practical, fun to drive and luxurious, all while achieving excellent fuel economy."

The TSX Sport Wagon delivers flexible utility and generous interior space - perfect for those with a growing family or an active lifestyle. The TSX Sport Wagon boasts an innovative and highly functional rear cargo space that includes a removable side panel to accommodate wider items such as golf clubs and integrated under-floor bins for hidden storage. Along with this sizeable cargo space, the TSX Sport Wagon features a comfortable and spacious cabin with seating for up to five adults.

The TSX Sport Wagon's practical utility is cleverly masked behind crisp lines and a sleek, European-inspired exterior. Bold wheel arches frame the 17-inch, 5-spoke aluminum wheels, giving the Sport Wagon an aggressive stance. The chiseled, muscular body and sloping roofline emphasize its performance capabilities while making it more aerodynamic.

Powering the TSX Sport Wagon is a 2.4-litre, DOHC i-VTEC(R), inline four-cylinder engine paired with a Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission fit with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. Drawing from its sports sedan roots, the TSX Sport Wagon features agile handling and quick off the line acceleration, allowing it to easily tackle a twisty mountain road or swiftly navigate through city streets.

The TSX Sport Wagon is equipped with an impressive list of standard features, including a power glass moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, and Bluetooth(R) HandsFreeLink(R), and a premium sound system with USB port and AUX jack music interface. Like all Acura vehicles, the TSX Sport Wagon will come with a comprehensive list of standard safety features, including Acura's acclaimed Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)) body structure for enhanced occupant protection.

The 2011 TSX Sport Wagon will be an entry luxury utility offering when it arrives at Acura dealerships in the late fall. The Sport Wagon will join the TSX lineup, which already includes the popular 4-cylinder and sporty V-6 powered sports sedans.
