Nissan’s Altima Hybrid has just been updated for the 2010 model year to include new styling and a revised interior. Buyers are now treated to new interior trims and fabrics, as well as a new fascia with an even more distinctive look. By freshening up their sporty Hybrid sedan, Nissan is aiming to give environmentally-conscious owners even more value than ever.
Altima Hybrid comes in a single, well-equipped model that includes 16-inch wheels, an intelligent key system, dual-zone automatic climate control and plenty of on-board storage.
Under the hood, a special version of Nissan’s 2.5 litre four-cylinder engine is teamed up with a sophisticated hybrid electric system for 198 horsepower. That’s 23 more horsepower than the four-cylinder unit makes on its own, and power is handled by a smoothness-enhancing CVT transmission.
Despite its nearly 200-horsepower output, the Altima Hybrid’s fuel economy is rated at 5.7L / 100km during city driving and just 5.9 L / 100km on the highway. Additionally, Nissan claims that drivers can expect a maximum fuel range of 1,300 km or more.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is standard on all Altima models for 2010, and the Hybrid also protects occupants with standard four-wheel ABS brakes, advanced airbags and Active Head Restraints.
Pricing starts at $33,398, and a single ‘Leather Tech’ package can be added for $4,900. It includes a Bose audio system, backup camera, navigation, Bluetooth, leather seats, a universal remote control and plenty more.
Curious about what driving a hybrid is like? A test-drive is in order.
