Taking on the urban jungle and the great outdoors
This is Jeep’s most popular little ute, the 2011 Patriot. This compact machine distinguishes itself from the 2010 variant by way of light visual updates and mechanical improvements.

Its angular profile, reminiscent of Jeep Cherokees from the 80s, essentially remains unchanged. The front and rear bumpers have been touched up, however. Up front, Jeep used the new design to reposition the fog lights on the lower part of the bumper.

Black plastic accents now cover the entire rocker panel real estate. These decorative touches, which also help protect the rocker panels from flying gravel and sharp obstacles on the trail, match the lower half of the new bumpers.

The nose has kept the saucer-like head lamps specific to the model. They frame the seven vertical slashes of the grille, a traditional design element of any Jeep product.

Refined cabin
The 2011 Jeep Patriot comes in three flavours: Sport, North Edition and Limited. The vehicle shares its architecture and mechanical components with the Jeep Compass and Dodge Caliber, and it comes in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive varieties.

Inside, the well-known layout has been improved in three ways. First, a three-spoke steering wheel replaces the 2010 model’s distinctly more massive number. Very elegant, it sports controls for the stereo system, cruise control and hands-free phone interface (optional).

Second, three big dials in the middle of the dash help regulate the ventilation system. They replace the built-in dials used until now.

Third, the front doors now sport soft-touch inside panels. Along with the new dash introduced last year and made from high-end materials, this new feature helps create the impression of superior quality inside this compact ute.
