Cadillac has definitely got the memo about not cutting corners when you need another entry. Back in the 1980s, it created the Cavalier-based Cadillac Cimarron, with predictable results. This time, Cadillac developed its own, unique, lightweight rear-drive platform for its new small car and BMW 3 Series fighter, and the results are fantastic.
It’s one of the lightest vehicles in its class (3,400 pounds or 1,542 kg) via extensive use of precious metals. It looks great. It will launch with an over-achieving 2.0L turbo four good for 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. And inside the 2013 Cadillac ATS, you’ll find the brand’s new and neat CUE infotainment system.
