Pros: Lexus reliability along with promise that the GX 460 is ready to go on or off road at a moment’s notice while keeping its occupants in comfort through all conditions does pique curiosity enough to further explore the claims. On paper, the 2014 Lexus GX 460 should be able to do whatever you need to do.

Cons: Towing capacity is a bit light when compared to others in this class, and the 4.6L V8 is on the smallish side for this size of vehicle.

Price: There are two models in the GX 460 lineup; the GX 460 starts at $58,900 while the GX 460 Premium goes for $66,600. The Ultra-Premium Package can be added to the Premium Package at extra cost. The MSRPs shown are between $3,600 and $2,550 lower than 2013 prices.

Exterior Styling: Lexus claims that the design is to promote the image of being carved from a single block of metal. Eighteen inch” wheels, chrome door handles, rear trim, roof rails, and illuminated running boards help enhance the look.

Inside: Luxury is the order with leather heated and cooled seats, real wood, and the dash itself is cleverly made to look as if it is constructed from a single piece of metal. Two 330-watt audio systems feature 7.1 surround sound technology and nine speakers, along with Bluetooth™ connectivity, USB audio inputs, integrated Satellite radio, and steering-wheel mounted controls.

Cargo//towing/payload capacity: Maximum towing capacity is 2,498 kg (6,500 lb). Cargo volume with both the second and third row seats folded is 1,833 litres.
