Honda introduced its all-new Civic Type R at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and announced that it set a Nürburgring record in the front-wheel drive hot hatch class with a lap time of 7:50:63, besting the previous mark of 7:54:36 set by the Renault Mégane.
The Honda Civic Type R is equipped with a 2.0L turbo engine that produces 310 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5.7 seconds.
The car will go on sale in the U.K. this summer at a base price of £29,995 (approx. $57,500). Like all previous Honda Civic Type R models, however, this one is not expected to cross the Atlantic.
