The all-new Hyundai Elantra Sport is coming to Canada in late 2016 as a 2017 model, Hyundai Canada announced yesterday.
Hailed as the most powerful Elantra to date, the Sport benefits from a variety of important powertrain, chassis, and styling upgrades over the current models.
Under the hood, look for a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces in excess of 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Additionally, this mighty sedan gets a multi-link rear suspension, an Elantra first that promises more dynamic handling.
Pricing for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport has yet to be specified. We’ll have to wait until fall to learn more about it
