A host of different transportation modes in the spotlight

Quebecers account for two-thirds of electric vehicle sales and half of hybrid car sales in Canada, so what better place than Montreal to serve as host for the country’s – and North America’s – very first auto show devoted to hybrid and electric vehicles? The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show’s honorary president, automotive journalist Pierre Michaud, helps kicks off the event today and it continues through Sunday at Place Bonaventure.

In partnership with Ford of Canada, organizers have put together an event that will feature more than 60 exhibitors and a dozen manufacturers and dealerships, in addition to scooters, motorcycles, bicycles (including the North American premiere of the Ruffian from Ruff Cycles), hoverboards, buses, boats and more.

Nissan, for example, is on site to promote its new LEAF used vehicle program. Visitors to the show can also get detailed information on-site about electric charging stations, as well as see, try out (over 30 models available), evaluate and compare a host of new products and all the latest technologies touching on electric mobility.
