Which turbo engine would you choose?

Good news today for those shopping for a new midsize sedan: The new tenth-generation 2018 Honda Accord will be debuting at dealerships by the end of October, with the aim of answering the challenge laid down by the new Toyota Camry launched earlier this year.

“Building on the bedrock character of Accord―its outstanding quality, fuel efficiency, packaging and sophisticated driving dynamics―the 10th-generation Accord injects a new level of emotional appeal and premium quality” said, Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Honda Canada Inc.

As we reported following the official unveiling of the 2018 Honda Accord, the car foregoes its traditional V6 engine in favour of two different 4-cylinder turbo engines with direct injection, each able to offer peak torque in a wide RPM range, smoother acceleration and reduced fuel consumption. A new 10-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.

Industry watchers and fans of electric powertrains are keeping an eye out as well for the 2018 Accord Hybrid, equipped with a third-generation i-MMD hybrid system; it will arrive on the Canadian market at the beginning of the new year. No pricing has been announced.

Another noteworthy change for the Accord is that all models will come with the Honda Sensing safety and drive-assist technology package as standard equipment.
