Subaru has just announced details concerning three of its core models for the 2019 model-year – each of which will be available at dealerships as of August. We now know pricing and details regarding modifications and upgrades for the 2019 Impreza, Legacy and Outback.

The Outback remains the most affordable all-wheel drive SUV on the Canadian market, and for 2019 its base-model starting price is $29,295.

Two engine choices are available to buyers looking at the 2019 edition. The 2.5L 4-cylinder BOXER 4- engine, with 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, is wedded to a Lineartronic CVT. The 3.6R option, available on Touring, Limited and Premier trims, offers a 3.6L SUBARU BOXER 6-cylinder engine delivering 256 horsepower and 247 lb‑ft of torque is combined with high-torque CVT.

Subaru’s symmetrical full-time all-wheel drive system is complemented in all trims with the X-MODE with Hill Descent Control system. Standard equipment also includes Active Torque Vectoring, heated front seats, power driver’s seat, fog lights, 17-inch wheels and dual USB slots for rear passengers.

For 2019, the standard 6.5-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has been upgraded to the latest version and a CD player has been added.

The exterior colours of Abyss Blue Pearl, Cinnamon Brown Pearl and Crimson Red Pearl have been made available for select trims.

The Touring version comes with 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, an 8-inch infotainment system with dual USB port/iPod controls, Subaru Side/Rear Vehicle Detection system and power rear liftgate, power glass sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror and dual-zone auto climate control.

The optional EyeSight package, available on the 2.5i Touring, 2.5i Limited and 3.6R Limited, and standard on the 2.5i Premier and 3.6R Premier trims, offers all of EyeSight’s preventative collision systems, as well as high beam assist, reverse automatic braking, proximity key with push-button start and a 5-inch colour multi-function LCD display.

The Outback Limited trim adds 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 4-way power adjustable passenger seat, heated steering wheel and rear seats, 8-inch infotainment system with navigation and Harman/Kardon 12-speaker system, and rear climate control vents.

The Premier trim offers low-profile silver roof rails, distinctive dark grey wheels and brown leather interior.
