And here's another example of the extra step you can take with a Raptor. All Broncos are equipped with a HOSS (High Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension). There are four configurations with the model, HOSS 1.0, HOSS 2.0, etc. The Bronco Raptor benefits from the 4.0 version (with the Fox semi-active shocks described above).

On the road... and off
With this much hardware, it's not surprising this model can go anywhere. And with all the adjustments that can be made to adapt the terrain management system and the vehicle's parameters to the approach of a specific obstacle, crossing it becomes a breeze.
To be completely transparent, we didn't have the opportunity to guide the Raptor version inside an off-road trail, a matter of schedule and availability during Ford's program. To make up for this, Ford put on a demonstration where we were able to see a Bronco Raptor traverse some pretty inhospitable terrain. It's nothing we haven't seen a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or a good old Land rover be able to do, it should be noted. The Bronco Raptor just adds its voice to the others.
On the road, where we had the opportunity to drive this Bronco Raptor, we discovered, in addition to a more powerful model, a more comfortable transporter, the fruit of more permissive shocks and a widened track in the back. Otherwise, this version doesn't do miracles with soundproofing, a trait that becomes annoying on longer trips.

Inevitably, one will wonder what the point of such a vehicle is. It's true that in everyday life, we don't need all these capabilities, that's obvious. However, there are enthusiasts who like to go off the beaten path, just as others prefer to spend their weekends hunting, on the golf course or on the lake with their boat.
A friend told me he never saw anyone using his vehicle in this way, and I simply replied that it was because he was never in the woods with his Honda Fit.
As for this Raptor model, it will sell, despite its stratospheric price tag ($99,995 CAD), simply because some people can afford it and love the difference offered here.
