A leaked order guide for the 2027 Ford F-150 has revealed quite a bit about the Blue Oval brand’s plans for its juggernaut pickup. For starters, we know that Ford is preparing a substantial update for its best-selling pickup for the 2027 model-year. This comes, not coincidentally, as General Motors rolls out next-generation iterations of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and Ram continues to bolster its 1500 lineup with high-performance variants.
A complete bumper-to-bumper vehicle redesign is not in the works for next year, apparently due in part to continuing fallout from the fire that hobbled aluminum supplier Novelis. Under the hood, however, there are changes afoot.

Most notably, the long-running 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is being permanently retired. There’s a new high-volume baseline engine in town, that will be used in the XL, STX, XLT and Lariat trims. Ford hasn’t shared any specs for the 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, but output is expected to comfortably surpass the outgoing 2.7L’s 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. We can expect something like the 405 hp seen in the Ranger and Bronco Raptor.
Notably, the new 3.0L cannot be optioned with the full factory Tow/Haul Package, though a standalone trailer brake controller remains available.
At the other end of the offering, the 400-hp 5.0L Coyote V8 makes a return to high-end variants, after being sidelined since 2024. It will once again be available as an option on King Ranch and Platinum models, offering a non-turbocharged alternative alongside the 3.5L EcoBoost and 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid setups. This move means the Coyote V8 can once again be ordered across every non-Raptor trim.
