The 3.0L EcoBoost V6 expands beyond the Raptor trim to Outer Banks and Badlands, while new Filson and RTR models join the 4x4 lineup.

Ford is rolling out a series of targeted mechanical, interior and aesthetic updates for the 2027 Bronco. While the sixth-generation off-roader doesn’t get a full redesign, the automaker is significantly expanding its powertrain offerings and introducing two distinct special editions: the luxury-rugged Filson and the high-speed RTR.

Powertrains of the 2027 Ford Bronco

The most significant mechanical update for 2027 is the wider availability of the 3.0L twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. Previously exclusive to the range-topping Bronco Raptor, this engine now becomes available as an option on the Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage trims, and is included standard with the new Filson edition.

In that application, the 3.0L V6 produces 380 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. While matching the Raptor's maximum torque output, it produces 38 fewer horses than the Raptor's 418-hp rating. The engine pairs exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The 3.0L V6 replaces the outgoing 2.7L EcoBoost V6, while the standard 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder remains as the base engine.

2027 Ford Bronco – new versions

Ford is expanding the Bronco lineup with two specialized models catering to different off-road tastes:

Bronco Filson - Developed in collaboration with the American outdoor apparel brand, the Filson edition emphasizes refined materials and rugged luxury. It comes standard with the 3.0L V6 and offers two exclusive exterior paint options: Field Green and Iron Sands Metallic.

Bronco RTR - Designed in partnership with RTR Vehicles and professional driver Vaughn Gittin Jr., the RTR version targets high-speed driving on loose surfaces. Powered by a uniquely calibrated 2.3L EcoBoost engine with enhanced turbocharger management for sharper throttle response, it features Hyper Lime interior accents and dedicated mechanical tuning. Canadian pricing hasn’t been announced, but we do know the U.S. starting price is set at $50,790 USD, the equivalent of about $72,500 CAD.

Ford also confirmed a limited Desert Rising appearance package, first announced back in July. It bestows on the SUV magenta and pink exterior tones inspired by natural microbiome bloom phenomena at the Great Salt Lake.

Interior of the 2027 Ford Bronco

Inside, Ford is prioritizing durability and user convenience. The Outer Banks (Lux Package) delivers premium vinyl upholstery replacing leather seating to better withstand dirt and moisture during off-road excursions. The Badlands variant gets marine-grade vinyl (MGV) seating with power-adjustability for the first time. In the Big Bend, a heated steering wheel becomes available via the Mid Package.

Minor exterior tweaks include a new Neptune Blue paint option (replacing Velocity Blue) and a redesigned keyless entry keypad neatly integrated into the B-pillar.

2027 Ford Bronco – Pricing and availability in Canada

Ford Canada has yet to announce official Canadian pricing, fuel economy ratings or exact delivery timelines for the 2027 Bronco lineup and its 3.0L V6 engine option. Stay tuned.
