Porsche has confirmed the return of a 6-speed manual transmission for the 2027 911 Carrera S. Citing strong customer demand, the German automaker is bringing back the three-pedal setup exclusively for the North American market.

2027 Porsche 911 Carrera S with manual – What’s new?
Offered solely in a rear-wheel-drive configuration, the manual 911 Carrera S receives an elevated list of standard performance equipment over its 8-speed PDK dual-clutch counterpart. Features include rear-axle steering, the PASM Sport suspension with a 10 mm lowered ride height, the Sport Chrono package, a SportDesign front fascia and a titanium exhaust system specifically tuned for a distinct auditory signature.
In a first for the Carrera S trim, lightweight centre-lock wheels come standard, which lightens the car by 17 lb (7.7 kg). Inside, a walnut gearshift knob serves as a focal point alongside standard 4-way Sport Seats Plus.

Powertrain of the 2027 Porsche 911 Carrera S with manual
Power comes from Porsche’s proven 3.0Le twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine, producing 473 HP. Tipping the scales at a svelte 3,327 lb, the manual Coupe weighs just 11 lb more than the 911 Carrera T. Weight-saving options such as carbon-fibre bucket seats and Porsche Ceramic-Composite Brakes (PCCB) remain available for further track-focused optimization.
Replacing the previous 7-speed unit, the new 6-speed gearbox uses the same first six ratios found in the Carrera T, doing away with the redundant seventh gear for a cleaner, more intuitive shift pattern. A custom puddle lamp projecting the shift pattern onto the ground is also offered as a playful exterior option.
