Acura states that the new CSX's suspension has been "tuned for a performance-oriented feel", so expect settings that more akin to
a Civic Si than a DX. The CSX will also feature drive-by-wire throttle control, four-wheel disc brakes and a speed-sensitive electric power steering (EPD) system for lighter weight and what Acura says is "sporty driving performance".
Acura also promises its CSX will feature a "wide range of distinctive luxury and convenience features", plus a "full compliment of standard safety features", which are to include Honda's new Advanced Compatibility Engineered (ACE) body structure for improving frontal collision safety with vehicles of "differing size", in this case meaning larger.
There is no word on the CSX interior, but expect upgrades similar to those differentiating the EL from the Civic. Or in other words, the dash, door panels, switchgear and components should remain identical to those inside the well-executed Honda, while certain trim items will be upgraded to make the Acura version appear more upscale.
Expect it to arrive in showrooms across the nation later this fall, with prices slightly higher than the current 2005 EL, which range from $23,000 to $25,800.
