BMW aims for half of its sales to be electric vehicles by 2030. Hence, we are seeing more and more models joining the family. The first in this modern offensive was the i4 sedan, introduced in 2022.

Various battery configurations are available, with rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive approaches. What stands out about this model is its impressive power and solid handling. In 2024, a second all-wheel-drive variant, the xDrive40, joins the M50 xDrive. This i4 is also offered in eDrive35 and eDrive40 versions.

The range of the different variants hovers around 400 km.

The i5 sedan is the electric addition to BMW's lineup at the beginning of this year. Initially, only one configuration will be available, the M60. Like the i4, performance will be a highlight with 593 hp, a 3.8-second 0-100 km/h time, and a maximum range of 412 km.

Current Generation: 2023

BMW introduced the electric version of its 7 Series last year. The i7 follows the same formula, but without emissions. It naturally offers grand luxury but is very heavy. The xDrive60 version returns unchanged, with a maximum capacity of 536 horsepower and an optimal torque of 549 pound-feet.

For 2024, the M70 joins the lineup. Its power and torque will peak at 650 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, under the best conditions. Range, depending on versions and tire choices, hovers around 500 km.

BMW iX

Current Generation: 2022

The iX was the brand's first electric SUV, and safe to say, it made a very good impression on its debut. Its distinctive style appeals to some. The lineup includes three configurations: xDrive40i, xDrive50, and M60.

For 2024, a new feature named Max Range can extend the range by 25 percent by limiting power, maximum speed, and reducing the intensity of the air conditioning system. A new battery management software promises faster recharges.

Under optimal conditions, the iX will allow you to drive around 500 km in electric mode, although around 350 km should be expected in normal driving conditions.
