Last year, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 established itself as one of the most popular, in-demand EVs on the market. That’s thanks in part to its practicality, range and eligibility for federal and provincial discounts here in Canada, of course. But it surely is also due at least in part to its utterly original visual appeal, what with its futuristic look mixed with a pleasing retro flavour that evokes such beloved models as the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale.

Sure enough, the electric crossover even won the World Car of the Year, World Design of the Year and World Electric Car of the Year awards at the 2022 New York Auto Show. Quite a feat.

There’s more excitement to come. Hyundai will soon present the N performance version of the Ioniq 5, set to deliver performance equal to that of the much-lauded Kia EV6 GT variant.

Rich in technology, the Ioniq 5 is also a vehicle that is quite roomy for young families with two children. You'll have to be patient, though, as the vehicle is in high demand.
