Apple is about to pierce onto the car market with its Siri device.
Eighth car manufacturers – Audi, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Mercedes and Toyota – are already thinking about fitting their line of new cars with the innovation.
Dubbed Eyes Free, the system is activated by a button on the steering, which gives the driver's access to his iPhone. The person at the wheel then only needs to speak up to his or her phone; ask for a song, request an itinerary, dictate a text message, and so on – all the rest is taken care of by the iPhone.
The idea is to bunch up on a single device many different tasks.
Siri is set to come out together with the new version of iOS, this summer; however it's unlikely we'll find it integrated on a car before next year, at the soonest.
