The Rapide, while not confirmed for production, is a concept that
makes plenty of sense for Aston to produce. Its clever chassis and component sharing made it possible for Aston to produce it in a fully operational state, in under six months, a testament to the V-H architecture's versatility. Given the right reaction on the show floor and in automotive publications like this, plus a strong enough demand from regular Aston buyers, which it will no doubt receive, the concept could become a reality by 2008, arriving in time to compete with Porsche's upcoming Panamera four-door sedan, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as well as the forthcoming Ferrari V12-powered Maserati Quattroporte Royale.
