Murciélago. Aside from introducing an open-roofed convertible version, and the brand's E-Gear sequential manual gearbox, the biggest bull has gone four years unchanged. Spy shots of updated test mule Murciélagos have been spotted on streets and on the track as of late, suggesting that something is in store in the near future.

Insiders have unearthed that while the Murciélago won't undergo any fundamental exterior changes quite yet, it will slide under the surgeon's blade for a midlife update soon. The wedge-shaped body, headlamps and scissor-type doors will remain the same, but expect to see new front and rear bumpers, as well as reworked side valances and skirts which will sport larger, high-flow ducts for enhanced ventilation. While these enhancements won't make headlining news, the changes underneath should certainly spark interest.

But while it's impressive what Lambo's engineers were able to craft out of an engine that dates back so far, the 6.2-liter V12 has reached its limits.
