Ever dreamed of driving a Batmobile to save Gotham’s citizens and battle the evil Riddler? Auctions America by RM offers you a chance to do so as the Batmobile from the 1995 film ‘Batman Forever’ will be auctioned at their ‘Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale’ sale in Florida, next March.
This car was built as a promotional vehicle for the Warner Brothers’ film, starring Val Kilmer, Jim Carey, Nicole Kidman and Tommy Lee Jones. It is fully drivable and has a fiberglass body with a custom tubular chassis.
This particular Batmobile was used on various promotional tours around the world before being acquired by a collector, in 2006. It has a presale value of US$ 200,000 - 275,000.
Two celebrity cars among 400 vehicles !
A pastel blue 1957 Chrysler Imperial Convertible is another celebrity car featured at this event. It was originally purchased by Howard Hughes in July 1957, who rarely drove it. After being stored until 1976, the year Hugues died, it was sold by his holding company to its second owner. Its presale value is estimated at US$120,000 - 140,000.
Other auction highlights include: the 1963 Shelby Cobra CSX 2080, the fifth 289 Cobra built (est. $425,000 - $475,000); a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (est. $300,000 - $350,000); a 1996 Ferrari 355 Challenge Car (est. $40,000 - $60,000); a 1939 Lincoln Model K Sport Sedan by Willoughby (est. $80,000 - $100,000); a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO (est. $160,000 - $200,000); and, a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (est. $100,000 - $125,000).

This edition of the Auctions America by RM sale will take place on March 4 - 6, 2011, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
